The Xicotepec Project is a joint project of Rotary District 6000 (D6000) and the Rotary Club of Xicotepec. The project's beginnings go back to 2001; in 2003 and each year thereafter (with the exception of the pandemic years 2020-22), a project team has traveled to Xicotepec over spring break to help carry out service projects of the Xicotepec Rotary Club.
Since 2003, more than 1,100 volunteers—including Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, University of Iowa students, faculty, and family members—have traveled to Xicotepec to work alongside the Rotary Club of Xicotepec on meaningful community service projects. For many, this trip has been a life-changing experience and a highlight of their service journey.
Who can apply?
