This year the Rotary Club of Ames awarded $20,000 in grants to Ames - area organizations.  These grants are to benefit local projects in the greater Ames community and are to fulfill an unmet need in one or more of these areas:  Community Development (education and awareness, equality justice, and mutual respect), Environment, Health and Wellness, and Youth and Family Development.  
 
This year's recipients of the Rotary Club of Ames Community Grants are:
  • Ames History Museum for an ADA compliant computer desk and new computer
  • Ames Writer's Collective for Student Writing programs
  • Boys & Girls Club of Story County for its Summer Nourishment program
  • Food at First for folding grocery carts
  • Mainstream Living for Healthy Cooking classes
  • One Heart Equestrian Therapy for additional security and safety items
  • Raising Readers in Story County to Enhance User Experiences
  • The Arc of Story County for Healthy Cooking classes 
  • The Bridge Home for new Mattresses and Bedding
